Our Mission: to make disciples through Christ-centered service and outreach.
With God's help, we will do this through witnessing, teaching, and loving.
Basic Christian Affirmations
United Methodists are part of the larger Christian faith and affirm all of the historic beliefs of the faith as articulated in the historic creeds of the church. "With Christians of other communions we confess belief in the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This confession embraces the biblical witness to God’s activity in creation, encompasses God’s gracious self-involvement in the dramas of history, and anticipates the consummation of God’s reign" (2012 Book of Discipline, ¶102)
Distinctive Wesleyan Emphases
There are no additional beliefs that are needed in order to be Methodist. However, Methodists have a proud and unique heritage within the larger Christian family. As such, there are some things we tend to emphasize. These emphases arise out of our historical origins, the unique personality of John Wesley, and later historic developments.
