First Forward
First Forward is the response of laity to a clear call from our membership to be a church that makes a difference in our community, our congregation and to each of us. First Forward is church UNusual and is based on the Great Commandment and reflects the practices that allow us to live our purpose.
First Family
Claudia Whitley, Team Leader
First Family is all about caring for our church family. That includes helping host special events in the lives of our families, special events in our church, caring for each other in any way and providing personal and pastoral care as needed. Our primary goal in the year ahead is developing and providing congregational care in a new way. If this team sounds like something that is a good fit for you, let Claudia know by reaching out to her at:

First Community
Le’Ann Solmonson, Team Leader
First Community is about being the hands and feet of Christ in our community. We focus on serving those experiencing food insecurity, supporting students and teachers in our schools and ministering to those who experience housing instability. In addition, we host blood drives and work with the Nacogdoches Community Coalition to find ways of serving with and or providing support to other organizations serving in our community. A key goal in the year ahead is to identify service opportunities for families to serve together and engage those who are unavailable during the workday. If you’re ready to serve or want to know more, scan the code below or reach Le’Ann at:

First Operations
Steve Westbrook, Team Leader
One of our key areas in the coming year will be our church building and grounds with a goal of having a facility and surrounding grounds that are well-maintained, meet the needs of the church’s ministries and are appealing to members and guests. Watch for upcoming Grounds Days and Church Clean-up Days. Also, consider signing up to be a part of a new Set-up and Take-down Team. The S&T Team will help set-up and take-down tables, chairs and equipment for the many events that happen at our church. So, jump in and be a part. Reach Steve at:
