The traditional service at 11:05 a.m. is for those seeking a more formal atmosphere. What to expect:

At FirstNac UMC, we offer two worship services, a Praise Service at 8:45 a.m. and a Traditional Service at 11:05. Both are held in the Sanctuary.  There are two entrances to the church, one through the front doors facing East Hospital Street and one through the Church Office entrance behind the church.  At each entrance, you will be welcomed by greeters, and once inside, ushers at the front of the Sanctuary and the side doors will offer you a printed order of worship so you may follow along during the service.  You are invited to sit in any pew that you feel comfortable in, including those in the balcony.  Whether you attend our Praise Service or Traditional Service, there is no dress code at FirstNac UMC.  Come as you are; all are welcome to worship.

Holy Communion

In both worship services, communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month. At FirstNac UMC, communion is administered by intinction. Ushers will direct each pew row when it's time to receive communion. When you reach the servers, one will place a piece of bread in your open hands, and you will dip it into a chalice of juice held by another server. The altar rail is open to those who wish to pray after receiving communion, or you may return to your seat.

Children in Worship

We encourage children in worship! Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me" (Matthew 19:14). We offer a Children's Message during both services to include them in "big church". We know that an hour is a long time for kids to sit in one spot, and they may need a little something to do through the sermon.  Kids' Worship Bags with activity pages and crayons are available in the church's narthex (lobby). If you need help finding them, just ask an usher who will be happy to assist you.

Nursery Care

Our nursery, serving children ages 0-5, is located on the first floor in the Preschool. Safe Sanctuary-trained nursery staff are there to care for your children during our worship services and discipleship classes. The nursery opens at 8:30 and closes once all children have been picked up after the 11:05 service.

Offering

Your monetary gifts may be given during the services by placing them into the offering plates as they are passed, or digitally through our online giving platform. A QR code is printed in the Order of Worship and displayed on the media screens at the time of the offering.
